Storybooks

STORYBOOKS

STORYBOOKS ARE MY LIFE,
WITHOUT THEM, I SURELY WOULDN’T SURVIVE.
THEY TEACH US VOCABULARY & WORDS,
AND ABOUTS SOLDIERS WHO FIGHT WITH SILVER SWORDS.
ABOUT MAGICAL FAIRIES WHO LIVE IN FANTASY LANDS,
OR WITCHES WHO TWIRL THEIR WANDS.
WHY HARRY POTTER WALKS BY THE LAWN,
WITH HIS BEST FRIENDS HERMIONE & RON.
WHY THE BLUE SEA HAS TIDES,
OR WHY THE CLOUD SO GRACEFULLY GLIDES.
A STORY BOOK CAN ONLY GIVE
ANSWER TO ALL THESE…

THERE ARE FEW STORIES WRITTEN BY RUSKIN BOND,
ABOUT A MYSTERIOUS CREATURE IN A POND.
PLAYS BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE
OR FUNNY POEMS BY EDWARD LEAR.
OTHERS AUTHORS JOIN IN AS WELL,
AND PUBLISH THEIR STORIES FOR SALE.

SO LISTEN UP PEOPLE,

THERE IS STILL TIME,
TO MAKE A DECISION & CHANGE YOUR MIND.
LET’S READ A LOT OF STORYBOOKS,
TO IGNORE ALL THE DISGUSTED LOOKS.
BECAUSE STORY BOOKS ARE MY LIFE,
WITHOUT THEM I SURELY WOULDN’T SURVIVE.

Rain

RAIN

Rain, rain, rain
On my window pane
Sometimes a blessing,
At times a pain!

When I want to go out to play,
The naughty rain comes in my way.
Indoor seems so mundane,
All wishes are in vain.

When I read my favourite story book,
Outside my window I look.
Oh! It’s such a pleasure,
To see nature’s treasure!

Rain, rain, rain
On my window pane
 Sometimes a blessing,
At times a pain!

Rain, rain, rain
Come back again.

Exams

EXAMS

Exams are near!
We’re all shuddering with fear,
We must bury our eyes in books,
All around there are worried looks,
We scribble down notes all day,
But as summer is so troubling,
Can autumn be far away?
After all the toil & trouble,
We’re paid dearly with custom relief,
Oh, how many happy sighs do we heave!
After all the revision & all the tension rising,
Pass days of pure joy,
Finally free from writing!
But as we play on energetic feet,
A brand new session strolls for us, down the street,
And soon will arrive new books, over which we’ll pore,
And like this we will pass each year,
So let’s learn more & more!

Policewoman

POLICEWOMAN
Once a stormy night
Under the moon light
Stood a dark woman,
In front of a white van;
The woman was wearin’ a blue shirt
With a black skirt,
And with a blue cap,
She was the only, policewoman.

Ran on the streets,
To catch the thieves,
Arrested people
Who did bad things;
Sometimes cried,
Because she feared,
But was the mightiest
Of all the rest.

Cats

CATS
Cats walk with their
Heads held high;
Because the mothers cat say,
“Big cats do not cry”.
They swish their tails and
Have sleek fur
And when with little girls,
They begin to purr.
Cats tell stories
In the bright full moon,
About elegant witches and
Table spoons.
In those lovely nights
They begin their dances.
Dreaming about knights
With shining lances;
But soon enough
Counting sheep;
Murmuring softly
                                      In their sleep.

ALONE

ALONE

From childhood’s hour, I have not been,
As others were, I have not seen.
As others saw, I could not bring
My passions, from a common spring.
 From the same source, I have not been taken,
My sorrow, I could not awaken;
My heart to join at the same tone,
And all I loved, I loved to be alone.
Then in my childhood, in the dawn,
Of a most stormy life was drawn.
From every depth of good and evil,
The mystery which binds me still;
From the torrent, or the fountain;
From the white cliff of the mountain;
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold.
From the lightning in the sky
As it passed me flying by,
From the thunder and the storm,
And the clouds took a form.
When the rest of the heaven was blue;
There was a demon in my view.
